Greenwing Macaw

Greenwing macaws are the second to the largest of all macaws. The Hyacinth being the first. The average length is normally around 84-92 cm. Weighing around 950 to 1400 grams. They are sometimes confused with the Scarlet Macaw but much larger. They are heavy set with a dark red body. They are very intelligent. They are also affectionate. Wanting to be cuddled and very loving. They are excellent talkers. Some can say a complete sentence. I have known one to sing opera. Most books recognize the greenwing as gentle giants. If proper care of and given the right diet these macaws will live way over 50 years.
